Kenyan emergency startup launches rescue service.

Flare, a Kenyan emergency services platform that was launched in December 2017, has introduced a new product that consolidates ambulance service providers into one network. The “Rescue” product, will ensure that users have access to medical assistance within 15 minutes in an emergency.

The platform is connecting users to more than 50 ambulances and up to 10 fire trucks. Flare plans to expand the fleet and may also add private security and police. Kenya: National Bank upgrades mobile banking services.

The National Bank of Kenya has announced that it will upgrade its mobile banking services. According to the bank, the upgrade includes new services with improved safety as the lender seeks to grow new revenue streams through digital avenues.

The NatMobile app allows customers to make payments such as school fees, National Hospital Insurance Fund contributions, utility bills and gives them access to credit card statements. It also provides additional widgets such as a currency converter and a loan calculator.
