Kenyan emergency startup launches rescue service.

Flare, a Kenyan emergency services platform that was launched in December 2017, has introduced a new product that consolidates ambulance service providers into one network. The “Rescue” product, will ensure that users have access to medical assistance within 15 minutes in an emergency.

The platform is connecting users to more than 50 ambulances and up to 10 fire trucks. Flare plans to expand the fleet and may also add private security and police. Lower Prices of Goods Expected in Kenya as Energy Supply Rises

VENTURES AFRICA – Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta, Thursday, commissioned Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited (KenGen)’s 140 MW Olkaria I Unit 4 & 5 Geothermal Power Plant in Naivasha, a town in Nakuru County. The plant is the last phase of the 280MW Olkaria geothermal power project.

Kenyatta gave Kenyans his word that the price of goods will come down, as the cost of power drops. He said the completion of the plant was a big step in his government’s move to scale up power generation by 5,000 megawatts.
