Career Opportunity: Funema is Seeking A Managing Partner

Funema is stimulating economic development in African last-mile communities using a Pan African mission-driven fund designed to deliver catalytic value to the Founders they’ve partnered with, high-impact solutions to the communities they are active in and solid financial returns to the Limited Partners supporting our mission.

The global VC market has grown exponentially over the past three years and so far, Africa has not been left out, however, it is our mission to guide this growth into solving base of the pyramid problems so latent opportunities hidden from conventional radars could eventually crystalise and precipitate to the top for relevance and participation on the global scene. If Funema’s mission aligns with your personal mission, then you must consider joining the team on this journey and help in leading the investment strategies across and beyond Africa. As Managing partner, you will be leading the fundraising with your compensation structured as 25% of management fees + 20% of carried interest.

Qualifications include:

5+ years of experience developing the African startup ecosystem either as an Angel Investor, working in an impact investment company, ecosystem architect or builder with a proven track record or an entrepreneurial experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with fundraising
  • Demonstrated experience in leading or participating in forming strategic corporate alliances and executing M&A deals in Africa or other emerging markets.
