International Climate Symposium 2022

SCIENCE-BASED CHOICES FOR CLIMATE ACTION: INSIGHTS FROM THE IPCC 6TH ASSESSMENT REPORT

All are invited to attend Science-Based Choices for Climate Action, Insights from the IPCC 6th Assessment Report, an in-person and livestreamed symposium hosted by Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, USA on October 24 – 26. Authors of the newest reports from Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), policy makers, other experts, and the audience will engage in conversations about findings from the IPCC assessment, why they matter, and how they can be used to mobilize more ambitious and equitable actions on climate change. The symposium celebrates awarding of the 2022 Sam Rose and Julie Walters Prize at Dickinson College for Global Environmental Activism to the IPCC in recognition of their important work.

Attendance is free, but pre-registration using the links below is requested. Assure your attendance by registering today to attend in-person or to watch the livestream.

To inquire about bringing a class or other group to attend in-person, or about the ticketing and registration systems, email sustainability@dickinson.edu. We are happy to assist in group reservations. The in person ticket reservation system allows for reservations of 1-30 tickets per session.

Dickinson College is purchasing carbon offsets for all speakers and attendees of the symposium from Cool Effect. Cool Effect is a non-profit organization that authenticates carbon offset projects to ensure that they are 100% additional and meet other standards.
